We invite you to discover the mountainous region of the Island of Sri Lanka, far from the usual mass tourism places, within a natural site where serenity rimes with biodiversity… You will find here the origins of a respectful and natural way of life, observe more than one hundred species of birds and the wild nature within 20 ha of preserved land, and savour mouth-watering traditional Sri Lankan cuisine, in a mountain valley full of secrets and fascinating ancient stories. You will find there peace, a unique experience of harmony and serenity, while you wander through the forest, the fields and the villages.

This estate is an ancient monoculture Tea Estate, which has rebuilt its biodiversity to become an Analog Forest ecosystem. You will love spending a few days and nights in this ecotourism site, to discover lush landscapes, to meet committed local producers, and to taste the best local meals, cooked by the villagers.

Rates are per person, on double room basis.


Day 1

After  you wake up, you will enjoy the kitul tapping and have a delicious breakfast prepared with food from the garden. Then, walk of one to three hours within our 20 hectares analog forest-garden. Discover our nursery, full of vegetables, fruits (vanilla, coconut…), medicinal plants, with Wickmarathue and Wimele, guided by an English
translator. Kitul sap, Kurakkan seeds and flour, Spices, Coffee and Teas, are produced in our bio- diversified gardens, certified by Forest Garden Product (FGP). Beyond organic production, we have fair trade principle.
Then you will have the chance to discover various plants preparation process (depending on the harvest), traditionally made by Kusuma.
Nandani and Bandaramaneke, the cooks will prepare you wonderful menus, with good, organic and fairly picked products you will have seen in our garden. Discovering the local recipes such as Kitul Sap or Kurakkan, both elected Ark of Taste by Slow Food movement, is the best way to keep this wonderful food culture alive.


Day 2

Get ready for a walking day in the jungle. On your trek, you will cross the paths around a mountain and overlooking wonderful splendid landscapes. You will love climbing the mountain to observe the richness of
the local wildlife.
You have the possibility to take with you the local picnic, the “Kurakkan Rotti”, a traditional bread rotti, served in a banana leaf. Install you in an ancient cave to enjoy your meal.
In the afternoon, enjoy a bath in a natural “swimming pool”, at Vavahena waterfalls, a beautiful place situated 45 min by feet from the estate.


Day 3

After breakfast, you may have a trek in the Halpola village, surrounded by the jungle. In order to well finish this journey, let’s have your last traditional meal and enjoy the Estate exemplary service once again. Do not hesitate to ask for the recipes book.
Visit the traditional village of Madukumbura, Rawanagode to have the wonderful view toward the estate. Also enjoy its two Buddhist temple surrounded by verdant rice paddy. If you have time enough, you can also have a bath at the Dunsinane Falls.
